ETI's Web Certification Program Update return to top
-------------------------------------------------------------
With
the pilot phase complete, ETI has now fully deployed its Web Certification program
at a major Massachusetts based technology company. This program provides the
training and certification testing necessary to prepare students for specialized
Internet careers in Web Design, Web Development and Web Administration.
ETI certification includes multiple tests addressing core concepts and product & technology-specific topics. Most certifications require students to pass three tests. While core tests are required, students have test options on the software products and technologies they will use in their jobs.
Nick Velonis, ETI’s President, states,
“Being certified on the software you use professionally is a major advantage of our program. Other programs have you learn a little about each software. Our philosophy is, let’s invest maximum effort becoming expert on the tool you will be using. For instance, if Dreamweaver MX is your standard, why should your designers be tested on FrontPage and Home Site?”
Other advantages include On-line testing. Students take exams on-line at their own convenience saving time and money over going off site to a testing center. Test results include a detailed analysis of a student’s strengths and weaknesses as well as an individualized plan for improvement. Velonis adds, “We can even integrate test results back to your Learning Management System.”
Hear what students in the program have to say,
“Great Course! Instructor had real world experience and the ability to work with different skills levels of the students in class.”

Web Designer
“This course was instrumental in helping me pass my Cold Fusion 5 exam. In fact, I passed at the expert level. Thanks!”

Project
Management at ETI return to top
---------------------------------------------------------
To survive in the new rapidly driven global economic environment, a major Massachusetts supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment enlisted ETI to develop and deliver a customized, on-site project management-training program. The training focused on the areas of project planning, forecasting, resource estimating, organizing, integrating, testing, business coordination, status communications and deployment of IT projects.
The goal of this major Massachusetts supplier of semiconductor manufacturing equipment was to promote project management as a skill set, a way of strategic thinking that permeates throughout their entire IT organization. To achieve this goal a half day Executive Overview was designed and delivered to help senior and executive managers become fully aware of the benefits and potential difficulties associated with project management implementation. In addition, this seminar laid out the road map for the creation and implementation of a successful project management culture.
ETI followed up this Executive Overview with a 3-day course entitled “Project Management Tools & Techniques For IT Projects”. Prior to the delivery of this workshop ETI worked with its client’s Project Management Office to incorporate into the materials the following;
The customization and incredible attention to detail are the overwhelming factors for the success with this program. To find out more about Project Management at ETI contact Nicholas Velonis at (781) 231-5944.

Custom
Classes around New England return
to top
---------------------------------------------------------
ETI has once again been retained to create a custom course for a large Boston-based manufacturer. The goal of the course is simple - teach all employees how to utilize the vast amount of information and services available on the company’s Intranet. To accomplish this, ETI’s course designers created an innovative course built around the following 4 objectives:
The ETI staff developed a custom training manual with a dual purpose. The first is a step-by-step guide to all job related tasks covered in the course. The second is a comprehensive resource to be used as a reference, back at the learner’s work area. Company-specific scenarios are used throughout the course.
Interactive aspects of this training project include:
Often times when developing a course, one does not have an opportunity to incorporate courseware, pre and post assessments and work scenarios into one package. This project allowed our instructional design team this opportunity.

Word 2002 finally has just what you always wanted. Yes, you now can select multiple non-contiguous words, phrases, and paragraphs. Simply Ctrl+click on multiple items for copying/moving or for applying formatting, such as italics. This will make general formatting a snap.
Excel 2002 worksheets should now always have the correct data. To validate your data select the appropriate cells and choose “View, Toolbars, Text To Speech”. Click the first tool called “Speak Cells” and your computer will repeat back the information selected. What a great way to check the accuracy of the data within your worksheets!
PowerPoint 2002 design templates give your presentation a professional, polished look, and can be applied to an entire presentation, or just to individual slides. Yes, that is correct. You can now have more than one design template in your presentation.
Have you ever ruined an Access table, query or report because you could not undo more than once? Access 2002 now provides multiple undo and redo actions. This also works with stored procedures, functions and Access projects.
Outlook 2002’s automatic completion of e-mail address has been expanded to include any address to which you previously sent a message, regardless of whether the recipient is in your contacts folder. In the previous version, any contact name or e-mail address you entered in the To, Cc, or Bcc box would be completed automatically as you typed, but must have already been added to your Contacts folder.
