Netscape 6: Introduction

Course description

Overview: Students will learn how to browse and find information on the Internet by using Netscape 6, how to customize Netscape 6, and use Netscape Mail and Netscape Instant Messenger.

Prerequisites: Windows 95: Introduction, Windows 98: Introduction, Windows 2000: Introduction, Windows NT Workstation 4.0: Orientation, or equivalent knowledge.

Performance-based objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

*     Describe the requirements for connecting to the Internet and identify the components of and navigate in the Netscape 6 Navigator window.

*     Use a variety of search techniques to find Web sites that contain useful information.

*     Use bookmarks to maintain links to particularly useful sites.

*     Customize the Netscape Navigator environment by working with My Sidebar, the Personal toolbar, and themes.

*     Communicate with other Internet users by using Netscape Mail and the Personal Address Book.

*     Communicate instantly with coworkers and friends by using Netscape Instant Messenger.
