Microsoft Office 2000: Web Components and Collaboration

Course description

Overview: Students will learn to create static and interactive Web documents in all Office applications. In addition, students will learn how to collect web documents in FrontPage, apply common themes and formatting, and publish the pages as an intranet site. Students will also learn how to collaborate on documents, both in Office applications and from the browser.

Prerequisites: Word 2000: Level 1, Excel 2000: Level 1, Access 2000: Level 1,
PowerPoint 2000: Level 1, and FrontPage 2000: Level 1 (or equivalent knowledge).

Target student: Students enrolling in this course should understand the basic Web concepts and have experience publishing Office documents as Web pages.

Performance-based objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

*     Create Office 2000 Web documents by saving Word and PowerPoint documents as Web pages.

*     Create interactive Office 2000 Web documents by using Excel and Access Web Components when saving documents as Web pages.

*     Manipulate Office 2000 Web document information in a browser by using Office 2000 Web Components.

*     Create a corporate intranet web by collecting and publishing Office 2000 Web documents in FrontPage 2000.

*     Collaborate on documents in Office 2000 applications and in a browser by using the Web Discussions feature.

*     Share information with others by using the online broadcast and online meeting features.
