Windows 2000 : Additional Topics

 

 Course Description

Overview:   Students will learn about some of the advanced features available for the Windows 2000 operating system.

Prerequisites:    To ensure students' success with this course, we recommend that they first take the following Element K Content courses or have equivalent knowledge:

• Windows 2000 : Introduction  

Performance-Based Objectives
Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

• Customize the Windows 2000 desktop by modifying the Start menu, taskbar and default desktop view.
• Manage files by viewing file attributes, securing files and folders, and identifying file associations.
• Optimize system performance by using the following tools: compression, backup and restore, Disk Cleanup, the Task Scheduler, and the Task Manager.
• Set printer options and manage the print queue and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Use other Windows 2000 applications, including Disk Defragmenter, the Run command, the Command Prompt, accessibility options, and other Accessories.
