FileMaker Pro 5.5 : Web and Network Publishing for Windows

Course Description

Overview: In this course, you will use FileMaker Pro 5.5 to publish a database in several different ways. You will host a database over an internal network, publish a database on the Web using Instant Web Publishing, and you will incorporate several databases in one Website using Custom Web Publishing.

Prerequisites: To ensure your success, we recommend you first take the following Element K course or have equivalent knowledge:

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

·           Configure a database as a multi-user file.

·           Open a hosted file.

·           Create a database with limited fields and complexity.

·           Create container and global fields to hold graphics.

·           Enable and configure the FileMaker Web Companion.

·           Set the Web style, table, form, search, and sort views for a Web database.

·           Enable the access and error logs, and view the access log.

·           Create passwords and access groups.

·           Create a record in the Web Security Database to limit access to a database on the Web.

·           Build a Web page using HTML tables and CDML links.

·           Add FileMaker Pro database information to Web pages using CDML.

·           Build response and error forms.
