Paradox 9.0: Introduction

Course description

Overview: Students will learn what a relational-database management system is; how to create tables, forms, queries, and reports; and data-entry techniques. They will also learn good database design techniques.

Prerequisites: Windows 98: Introduction or equivalent knowledge.

Performance-based objectives

Lesson objectives help students become comfortable with the course, and also provide a means to evaluate learning. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

*           Define database terminology and identify Paradox objects.

*           Create a table structure by using the Table Expert and the Create Table dialog box.

*           Update and maintain tables by adding, editing, locating, and deleting records, and by restructuring a table.

*           Create, modify, and use a form, and change form properties by using the Form Design window.

*           Sort fields, select records, and perform calculations on data by creating and using queries.

*           Create reports by using the Report Expert and a data model.
